Population of approximately 216 million. Brazil is the largest and most populous country in South America, with a diverse mix of ethnic backgrounds, including Indigenous, African, and European influences.

The official language is Portuguese, making Brazil the only Portuguese-speaking country in South America. Indigenous languages and regional dialects are also spoken.

The capital is Brasilia. Major cities include Sao Paulo (largest city), Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre.

Brazilian cuisine is diverse, with influences from Indigenous, Portuguese, and African traditions. Popular dishes include Feijoada (black bean and pork stew), Pao de Queijo (cheese bread), Moqueca (seafood stew), Churrasco (Brazilian barbecue), and Acai bowls.

Temperate in the south: mild winters and warm summers.
Highland climate in central regions: moderate temperatures year-round.

Notable wildlife includes jaguars, capybaras, anacondas, sloths, macaws, pink river dolphins, howler monkeys, and piranhas. Brazil is home to 60% of the Amazon Rainforest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. The Pantanal Wetlands also host an incredible variety of wildlife.
