Population of approximately 52 million. The majority of the population is concentrated in the Andean region and coastal cities.

The official language is Spanish. Indigenous languages, such as Wayuu and Nasa Yuwe, are spoken in certain regions.

The capital is Bogota, the largest and most populous city. Other major cities include Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, and Cartagena (a historic coastal city).

A mix of Indigenous, Spanish, and African influences. Known for carnivals, salsa and vallenato music, and coffee culture. Literature is significant, with Gabriel Garc�a M�rquez�s "magical realism" influencing global literature.

Rice, beans, plantains, and meats are common. Popular dishes: Arepas (corn cakes), Bandeja Paisa (a platter with beans, meat, egg, and plantains), Sancocho (hearty soup), and Ajiaco (chicken and potato soup).

Tropical and varied due to elevation differences. The lowlands are hot and humid, while the Andean regions have a cooler, temperate climate.

One of the world's most biodiverse countries, home to jaguars, sloths, pink river dolphins, Andean condors, poison dart frogs, and capybaras. The Amazon and Andes support diverse species.
