Official languages: Fijian, English, and Hindi. Fijian has multiple dialects, with Bauan Fijian serving as the standard form.

Capital: Suva (largest city, administrative and economic center). Other major towns: Nadi (tourist hub with an international airport), Lautoka (sugarcane industry center), Savusavu (known for its natural hot springs).

Fijian culture is based on communal living and respect for elders. Traditional ceremonies such as the kava (yaqona) ritual are important. Indigenous Fijian traditions coexist with Indian influences due to the large Indo-Fijian population.

Tropical maritime climate, with warm temperatures year-round. A wet season occurs from November to April, with tropical cyclones possible. The dry season (May-October) is cooler and less humid.

Notable wildlife includes Fiji banded iguanas, flying foxes (fruit bats), tree frogs, and an abundance of marine life, including reef sharks, manta rays, and vibrant coral species.
